Algeria is the third largest importer of printing and paper technology in Africa.
Investment in technology to boost local production, export and replace imports.
In the printing and paper technology sector, demand in Algeria remains at a consistently high level. Imports in this sector rose from € 57 million in 2016 to € 95 million in 2023, making Algeria the third largest importer of printing and paper technology in Africa, surpassed only by South Africa and Egypt.
When it comes to packaging technology imports, with €161m in 2023, Algeria is the second largest importer in Africa, ahead of Egypt (€145m) and after South Africa (€194m). (VDMA)

Austria Pavilion
The Austrian Pavilion receives strong support from ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Algeria, the commercial section of the Austrian Embassy in Algiers.

French Participation

Sabine Geldermann, Director drupa and Global Head Print Technologies with Messe Duesseldorf points out: “According to the German Engineering Association VDMA, Algeria’s imports in this sector in 2023 amounted to €95 million, up from €57m in 2016. This makes Algeria the third largest importer of printing and paper technology in Africa, surpassed only by South Africa and Egypt.”
