From biennial to annual:
To the next printpack & plast alger from 24 to 26 February 2025!

With 5,199 trade visitors from 42 countries and 297 exhibitors from 22 countries, the 8th edition of printpack & plast alger in 2024 once again demonstrated its special value.

Highly satisfied exhibitors and visitors as well as a strongly growing printpack & plast market are the main ingredients that pushed the organisers fairtrade & Messe Duesseldorf to change from a biennial to an annual event after 16 years now.

We are therefore looking forward to our next meeting from 24 to 26 February 2025! Once again in the Ahaggar & Casbah pavilions on the SAFEX site.

Investment in technology to boost local production, export and replace imports

In the field of printing and paper technology, demand in Algeria is constantly increasing and imports in this field have grown from €57m in 2016 to €101m in 2020 and €77m in 2021 and 2022, making Algeria, together with South Africa and Egypt, one of the three largest importers of printing and paper technology in Africa.

When it comes to packaging technology imports, with €127m in 2022, Algeria belongs to the leading importers in Africa, together with Nigeria, South Africa and Egypt. (VDMA)

Along with increasing industrialisation and a rapidly growing population, the Algerian printing & packaging industry is growing strongly.

Voices from the organisers

“With €127m in 2022, Algeria belongs to the leading importers of packaging technology on the African continent, together with Nigeria, South Africa and Egypt. (VDMA) We are proud that since 2010 printpack & plast alger has been embraced by leading technology and raw material suppliers from around the globe as their most important business platform in the region”, says Martin März, fairtrade founder and managing partner.

“And we thank the Algerian government as well as Algerian, Maghreb, European, Middle Eastern and Asian embassies, institutions and associations for their unmitigated and ongoing support.”
